Last weekend, during a small snow event, I headed over to Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary in Marshfield to capture a hint of winter. I’ve visited many times before, but I’ve always wondered what those wide-open fields would look like covered in snow.
The storm didn’t quite deliver—only a few flurries actually stuck—but the flat, grey light changed the whole look of the place. The tall grass was still brown, but the dusting of white gave the fields more depth than usual. I spent about a couple hours out there, mostly focusing on how the haze blurred the tree line in the distance. Even without the “winter wonderland” shot I was looking for, it was a solid trip and worth the cold air.
