Along the Way — April 12, 2026 — Duxbury Beach

Busy with work lately, so I’m a bit behind on posting, but I’m back with another entry in the Along the Way series. This time, a sunrise outing at Duxbury Beach.

On my last visit, the bridge had been closed for maintenance, but this time it was open and I was able to drive across to the beach side. My first stop was at the Gumdrop-shaped tree along Duxbury Bay. I’ve attempted to capture interesting light at this tree for quite some time, returning whenever I have the chance. This outing brought a bit of luck, with the sky glowing a soft orange as the sun started to rise behind the bay.

From there, I crossed over and spent most of my time along the beach capturing the sun as it rose above the horizon. This stretch offers a clear, open view to the east, making it a great spot to watch the sunrise.

After sunrise, I spent some time walking around the area near the bridge, capturing a few additional frames as the light grew stronger, including a nearby house that had the look of a small lighthouse.
