If you have traveled from Hull through Cohasset or simply live on the South Shore, chances are you have seen this house. It sits on a small island named Black Rock, its red shutters standing out against the rugged coastline, a familiar sight to boaters and beachgoers alike. According to local legend, the island became known as Doctor’s Island because its original owner, Horace Cook, often hosted doctor friends who came to enjoy the fresh salt air and good company.
For this photo, I opted for a long exposure, as the choppiness of the water was distracting from the overall composition. To achieve the effect I was looking for, I used my Lee Little Stopper. Unfortunately, Lee filters are known to add a color cast to photos, so I did my best to correct the temperature to reflect the natural tones of the scene.
