A unique view of Old Scituate Lighthouse from the street, a perspective not often seen.
Old Scituate Lighthouse, built in 1811 on Cedar Point in Scituate, Massachusetts, is one of the oldest U.S. lighthouses. During the War of 1812, Rebecca and Abigail Bates scared off a British warship by playing fife and drum. They earned the nickname “The American Army of Two.” The lighthouse, with its white tower, stands as a historic landmark and attracts many tourists.
