Description

Scituate Lighthouse, built in 1811 on Cedar Point in Scituate, Massachusetts, is one of the oldest U.S. lighthouses. During the War of 1812, Rebecca and Abigail Bates scared off a British warship by playing fife and drum. They earned the nickname “The American Army of Two.” The lighthouse, with its white tower, stands as a historic landmark and attracts many tourists.
