A Walk Through Hatch Mill

Hatch Mill in Marshfield, Massachusetts, a historic water-powered mill, framed by green trees and foliage under a blue sky.

Hatch Mill in Marshfield sits quietly by Hatch Pond, the last water-powered mill still standing on Two Mile Brook—a small stream that flows into the North River. It’s a piece of history you can visit, with tours offered a few times each year. Inside, the old machinery remains, silent but still telling its story.

I spent an afternoon walking around the mill, noticing the worn wood and the changing light. These photos don’t show everything—just a few details that stood out to me. It’s a small reminder of how much history still lives here on the South Shore.
