Chicago Fire Department fireboat Christopher Wheatley.
The Chicago Fire Department added the Christopher Wheatley fireboat in 2011, marking the city’s first new fireboat in sixty years. It replaced the Victor L. Schlaeger. Built in Wheatley, Ontario, the vessel honors a young Chicago firefighter who died in the line of duty in August 2010.
