Eustis Estate Museum

I stopped by the Eustis Estate in Milton recently on a late afternoon, drawn mostly to the mansion and its surrounding grounds. The house, with its late 19th-century stonework and towers, stands almost hidden behind old trees and rolling lawn. I didn’t go inside. Instead, I wandered the paths, seeing how solid and imposing the house feels, yet how the gardens make it seem more welcoming. Even from the outside, there’s a sense of how much history this place holds.

Tours of the mansion are offered on weekends, both guided and self-guided, and I’m thinking I might have to take one myself someday to see the interior. For now, the quiet walk around the house and its grounds was enough to appreciate the history and presence of the place.
