Sunrise at the JFK Library

Front view of the JFK Library in Boston, Massachusetts at sunrise.

Chasing sunrise in Boston today, I made my way to the JFK Library, hoping to capture the soft glow of morning over its striking architecture and the surrounding waterfront. I had visited before, but only recently noticed that the library’s layout and harbor setting make it a perfect place to enjoy a peaceful morning—regardless of how the light unfolds.

I spent most of my time at the rear of the building by the John T. Fallon State Pier, which offers wide views of the sun rising over the bay. This area is also part of the Boston Harborwalk—a near-continuous, 43-mile linear park along the city’s shoreline that links neighborhoods and provides uninterrupted access to Boston Harbor. It’s also where Victura, the Kennedys’ beloved 25-foot wooden sailboat, rests on the lawn during the warmer months—a reminder of the family’s enduring connection to the sea.
